Giving back to the community

After each matinee performance of “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Wizard of Oz,” the cast donated their time to meet the audience for autographs and photos. We charged each child $5.00 and all the proceeds went to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon & SW Washington. We also provide tickets to organizations that could not afford to see the show.

Offering Opportunities

We donated $5,000 to the Jefferson Dancers in exchange for them to perform in the show and were featured in the “Be Our Guest” number. This helped the dancers to apply their training in a professional company right in their home town. Several of our crew members were High School Drama students who were able to receive expert training and experience not available to them anywhere else in town as well as class credit.

Local Actors, Musicians & Technicians

Everyone on the creative team, onstage, in the orchestra and backstage live and work in the surrounding area. Our show was 100% Oregon and Washington talent.

Funding

Pixie Dust is a one man operation surrounded by incredibly talented artists that are thrilled to be working at this level. Because we are a “for profit company” we are not allowed to apply for grants. We reach out to the businesses in the area for sponsorships and they have responded. Although, they only supply a small portion of the funds we need to produce the show. They give because they believe in us.

We are committed to bring high-end musical theatre entertainment to Portland for many years to come.

Greg Tamblyn

Producer/Director

Greg has been involved in Portland theatre for over 25 years. Greg recently directed and produced “The Wizard of OZ”, along with the award winning “Beauty and the Beast” which earned him a Drammy Award for Outstanding Producer.

Greg has worked with Thomas Lauderdale and “Pink Martini” on their New Years Eve show and directed the Sesquicentennial Musical Fable “Oregon! Oregon! to celebrate Oregon’s 150^th Birthday.

Under his production company “Pixie Dust Productions”, Greg directed and produced the long running “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” the award winning 2003 production of “Peter Pan”, and the original Portland premiere of “The Full Monty.” Greg directed the World Premiere of Marv Ross’s critically successful original Native American Musical “The Ghosts of Celilo for Artist Repertory Theatre.” In 2008 Greg revised the production of “The Full Monty” at Lakewood Theatre where he has also directed the award winning “Ragtime” and “Man Of La Mancha.” Greg collaborated on “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” for Triangle Productions where he also directed “The Rocky Horror Show.” Greg was honored with a 2004 Drammy Award for directing the “Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe,” for the Oregon Children’s Theatre, which also won for Outstanding Production. Listed are only a few of the shows Greg has directed: At the Musical Theatre Company, “Anything Goes”, “Funny Girl”, (Drammy Award Winner), “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” (Drammy Award Winner) and “La Cage Aux Folles.” At Portland Civic and SRO Productions, Greg is best known for his 6 years of directing “Peter Pan,” as well as “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown”, “West Side Story”, “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”, and “The Little Shop of Horrors.”

Greg is the Director of Theatre at Pamplin Entertainment writing and directing original musicals produced locally at the Twelve Oaks Theatre, and for over 19 years Greg has worked on the Singing Christmas Tree as director and scriptwriter and is now the Executive Director. Greg co produces “Ten Grand’s” with pianist Michael Allen Harrison in Portland & Seattle. Greg has staged events for the University of Oregon, Eugene Symphony, Our House of Portland, Portland Opera, The Northwest Academy, PSU, OMSI, Classic Wine Auction and multiple non-profit fundraisers.

Greg is most proud of his two beautiful daughters Ariel & Aurora.
